Night at the Museum 2: Review and Giveaway

When the weather gets cold outside, my husband and I love to have movie nights on the weekend!  We pick a night, a warm blanket, some popcorn and a great movie and enjoy some time together sans kids!

We recently selected “Night at the Museum:  Battle of the Smithsonian“, released on December 1st, for our movie night extravaganza.  My hubby and I both love Ben Stiller (who doesn’t love “There’s Something about Mary?”), so we couldn’t wait to check this movie out!

nightmuseumA brief synopsis:

History is larger than life — and twice as funny — in this monumental comedy sequel.  Ben Stiller (MeetThe Parents, There’s Something About Mary) stars as Larry Daley, a former night watchman at the Museum of Natural History, where the exhibits come alive after dark.  But now Larry’s nocturnal friends are being retired to the archives of the Smithsonian Institution, luring him back for a hilarious, all-out battle against a cranky Egyptian Pharaoh who plans to take over the museum… and the world! From returning director Shawn Levy (Cheaper By The Dozen), the film also stars Amy Adams (Enchanted), Robin Williams (Good Will Hunting), Owen Wilson (Wedding Crashers), Hank Azaria (“The Simpsons”), Ricky Gervais (“The Office”), Steve Coogan (Tropic Thunder) and Jonah Hill (Super Bad).”

I love releasing the stress of the week with laughter, and this movie definitely worked for us!  I have not seen the first movie, but I would love to go back and check it out now!  Night at the Museum:  Battle at the Smithsonian on DVD and Blu-ray would make an excellent stocking stuffer for your movie buff this year, and fortunately, I have FIVE copies to giveaway!

  5. I don’t rent movies. I believe the last time I did that was during the Reagan administration… I did purchase the last Harry Potter movie, as a Christmas present for my daughter.

  6. The last movie I watched was Christmas Shoes! It made me and my daughter cry a very touching movie! Must see!

  7. Funny People with Adam Sandler and Seth Rogan. there were at least 15 other celebrity cameo’s, mostly other comedians. It was a good movie.
the first Night at the Museum has been on our local network two nights in a row and both nights I watched and laughed!

MERRY CHRISTMAS (or whatever you celebrate)and THANK YOU!!!

  9. I can’t even remember the last movie I rented- it’s been so long! I think it might have been I Am Legend.

  10. Oh wow! It’s been over seven years since I’ve rented a movie and couldn’t begin to remember what it was!

  11. It has been so many years since I rented a movie, I couldn’t tell you what it was. You can buy movies at places like Wal Mart and Target for such a low cost, it doesn’t make sense (IMHO) to mess around with renting them. The last movie I bought was The Proposal. Thanks for the chance to win.

  12. The last movie rented and brought here to this home by my husband was G.I. Joe. UGH. I don’t like that movie. =(

  13. I think the last movie we rented and watched was UP. It was not my favorite animated movie but the kids seemed to like it.

  14. We don’t rent movies. We have just about every premium movie channel there is on cable and with On Demand, there’s no need to rent anything. Just watched Slumdog Millionaire on HBO On Demand earlier tonight. Thanks for the contest. 🙂

  15. I just rented the Hangover so my dh & I could watch tonight. We rented Harry Potter the other day for the kids.

  16. The last movie I rented was GI Joe: the Rise of Cobra. I thought it was pretty silly, but my brother enjoyed it. Thank you for the chance to win.

  17. It’s been a while since I rented a movie because our local Hollywood Video closed shop. I want to rent Watchmen – Ultimate Edition. Please accept my entry. Thank you.

  18. The last movie we rented was “My Name is Bruce.” Very cool. Thanks so much for the giveaway. Happy New Year.

  19. the last movie I rented was marley and me and I balled my eyes out but the last movie I watched coincidently is night at the museum and I loved it

  20. I rented and watched “District 9.” It showed a lot of promise but crawled along throughout the movie. The acting was very good and the special effects were very good, but the story and execution was lacking.

  21. I have not rented in years. I have on demand and buy DVDs when they are on sale as low as $3.99. The last movie might have been a Pokemon movie.

  22. We watched GI JOe. I was suprised at how family friendly it really was. We saw Transformers and I was disappointed with the profanity. Very little in this one. Thank you

  23. It was actually my husband’s choice: The Hangover but we had to wait for the kids to go to bed!
