Boo! Did I scare you? No? How about the fact that Halloween is only 16 days away? Time to carve the pumpkins, make the treats and prepare the costumes! If your kids are anything like mine, they will wait until the very last minute to decide what character they want to be for Halloween.
My youngest has gone back and forth between a Disney Princess, a cowgirl and a chef. Of course, she finally chose to be a Ladybug Ballerina which I was so happy to find at Party City! This costume comes with the red dress and attached tutu, headband, wand and detachable wings. I am always skeptical of costumes that include wings because they can often look mangled. Much to my surprise, the ladybug wings are beautiful! They are decorated with stones and ribbons which are such a nice touch. I love that the wings Velcro to the costume in four places and do not require the child the slip their arms through an elastic band. My daughter was much more comfortable in these wings than others she has owned in the past…and she looks darn cute, too. The Ladybug Ballerina costume retails for $29.99.
My oldest is now way too cool for Princess costumes. After all, she is 7 (and a half). This caused major problems this year when selecting a costume because she didn’t want to be all fancy like a Princess, but still isn’t brave enough to be something scary. Fortunately, we found a Midnight Mischief costume at Party City that was a great compromise between fancy and scary. My daughter loves the spiderweb tights! I was impressed with the quality of the included gloves because generally gloves are quite flimsy. The dress, tights and gloves are included and retail for $29.99. I would say that my daughter looks cute, but apparently that’s not “cool” anymore.
If you are still looking for the perfect costume, head to your local Party City! They are sure to have a costume for your little Princess or not-so-Princess. Happy Halloween!
