If you read this blog at all, you know that my house is full of all things princess. Sparkly, pink, girly and regal are words you could use to describe my daughters on any given day. On a recent trip to Disney World, they had the opportunity to get a Princess Makeover at the Bippity Boppity Boutique and they haven’t stopped talking about it since. In addition to all the costumes and makeup, they are obsessed with the Disney Princess movies. From Ariel to Belle and Tiana to Cinderella, they love them all!
When Pixar Animation Studios released BRAVE in the theaters, my daughters begged to be first in line. We did manage to get to the theaters on opening day and they both loved the movie (the popcorn didn’t hurt, either)! A little about this PG movie:
“Set in the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland, Disney Pixar’s “Brave” follows the heroic journey of Merida, a skilled archer and headstrong daughter of King Fergus and Queen Elinor. Determined to change her fate, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the unruly and uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin, surly Lord Macintosh and cantankerous Lord Dingwall, unleashing chaos in the kingdom. When she turns to an eccentric Witch, she is granted an ill-fated wish and the ensuing peril forces Merida to harness all of her resources—including her mischievous triplet brothers—to undo a beastly curse and discover the meaning of true bravery.” Check out the trailer below:
The girls instantly fell in love with Merida and wanted to see the movie again. Fortunately, BRAVE was released to order On Demand through your cable provider on November 13th! We were asked to throw a viewing party to celebrate the release of the movie with a few of my daughters’ friends complete with a red carpet for premiere picture taking.
After our guests arrived (we even hosted some princesses), the girls took pictures on the red carpet and dined of pizza fit for only true royalty. After their bellies were full, the girls snuggled up on the sofa as the movie began. Ordering the movie from our cable provider was very easy and cost only $6.99 for the HD version which was available for our viewing for the next 3 days.
The girls had a great time sharing a movie night with school friends (and my hubby and I were deemed the best parents EVER)! While we waited for parents to arrive, the kids decorated BRAVE theme coloring sheets and listened to the amazing soundtrack. All of the little princesses were exhausted and left our castle before their carriages turned into pumpkins!
Who is your favorite Disney Princess?
