Nestle Family Summer Fun Giveaway!

Can you believe it’s almost halfway through July already?  My family and I have been making the most of our Summer by taking time to just slow down and be together!  A week long trip to Callaway Gardens to connect with each other, ourselves and nature was just what we needed.  Are you having the Best Summer Ever?

Last month, I let you know that six fab bloggers and I came up with some great activities alongside Nestle Family to help you create memorable moments this Summer.  Have you been checking them out?  My challenge for the week:

Water fun is a must during the hot summer months! While not everyone owns a pool, all it takes is a little creativity to cool off in the summer heat. After putting the kids in their bathing suits, connect the garden hose and fill two buckets of water. Add a little soap and some towels and put the kids to work washing the family car! The kids will have a blast playing in the water and Mom gets a clean car to boot?

To accompany the Summer Challenges, Nestle Family is having some fun giveaways including a water slide, swing set, barbeque pit and of course a host of wonderful Nestle products.  And right here on Experimental Mommy,  you can win great prizes, too!

GIVEAWAY

One winner will receive a $25 VISA gift card, ice cream (NESTLÉ DRUMSTICK, EDY’S/DREYER’S) coupons, NESTLÉ Pure Life coupons and summer activities (jump rope, chalk, beach ball, hard and soft flyers, a ball and a Lambada catch ball and mitt set)!

  1. I think families need to go swimming to beat the heat. After swimming, it is always nice to sit in the AC with the lights off and watch a video

  2. We used to have fun with a sprinkler in the back yard. We’d put on our swimsuits and run through while also shooting off our water guns.

  3. We visit the library where there’s air conditioning and free summer programs to beat the heat.

  4. stay cool with the kids inside your local hands on museum, most communities have there own costing around $5 each and they are filled with creative fun things to learn, getting your hands on them for fun and can take upto 3-4 hours to slowly enjoy. Most will stamp ypur hand if you want to leave and then come back for the day. After that family fun has ended go visit your local ice cream shop and buy everyone some ICE CREAM to cool off too! Great giveaway thanks

  5. We like to go to the Children’s Museum as some days it is only $3.00 and that is a bargain for all day! As it is educational, cool and fun!

  6. To beat the summer heat we put our chairs in the shade and have some freezie pops or ice cream cones. If it is really hot out we come inside to the A/C and play games.

  7. I saw an awesome idea in Family Fun magazine (I think that’s where it was…)…a kid “car wash” made of a frame of PVC pipes with holes drilled in them and wet sponges hanging down from the top. Hook up a hose and you’ve got some wet summer fun!

  8. Pull out the hose, set up the water sprinkler and have a water balloon fight.

  10. We go swimming. It is so nice and refreshening. Also, love to head up to the mountains where it is a bit cooler.

  11. Playing in the sprinklers is a fun way to beat the heat together! Then go to a shady spot and eat some fresh watermelon!

  12. My family loves water-play! If we can’t drive to the ocean or a nearby lake or stream, we can always go in the backyard and play with the hose or water balloons. Thanks for the giveaway.

  13. I have to go with the Old Fashion Sprinkler! Evemn with a pool..if I turn on the sprinkler, before long even older kids are gravitated to it!

  14. We love the Slip n Slide—or, when all else fails, wet a large piece of plastic down and have fun!

  15. we spray the kids with water guns as they go down the slide and then they get to spray us when we go down!

  16. My kids love playing with water balloons. We also like to go spend the day at the beach, we bring yard/lawn games and cookout and swim of coarse.

  17. We like to go down to the local ice cream joint and have a sundae while sitting by the river under the trees. Thanks.

  18. We go to the library a lot during the summer. Ours has story time, puppet shows, scavenger hunts etc… for the kids.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  19. What my family does to stay cool and beat the heat is go swimming, run through the sprinkler, on really hot days stay in the AC and read or watch TV, eat ice cream and popcicles, spray each other with the hose.

  20. When it’s super hot where we live, we go up to the local mountains and visit my parents/daughter’s grandparents! Nice change for all (and cooler for us)

  21. weve been playing with water guns almost every day in the yard, the kids have a lot of fun running around and squirting each other

  22. our yard is VERY shaded so we play outside on the playhouse together and swing for some cool air!!

  23. We love those free, or almost free movies from Regal cinemas ono Tuesday mornings. Nice and cool in the theaters 🙂

  24. There is only one way to really beat the heat here if you are wanting to be outside, and that is playing in the water. Whether you are swimming or playing in the sprinkler.

  25. Spending the day at the beach is a great way to cool off together!
    Thanks!

  26. Walk in the mountains. Cool breezes and shady trees. Just wear a hat to avoid ticks/bugs eating your head

  27. My kids enjoy playing in the sprinkler on hot summer days! Thanks for the chance to win!

  28. We fill our largest cooler full of water and some ice and have a water gun fight! Using the cooler means we waste less water too.

  29. Nothing beats the heat like an all-day movie marathon at the local theater, which has to be the coolest indoor space in the entire city! Of course, a trip to the water park would probably be a great option, too. Thanks!

  30. We love going geocaching and always ending up near a lake or stream to cool off. It feels great.

  31. One activity that I haven’t done in a while is run in the sprinklers

    thanks a lot!!

  32. We went on a very shady picnic this weekend. It was a great way to be outside and grill without being unbelievably hot. The kids helped us find the shadiest spot at the park.

  33. Have a family ice cream get together, jump into a pool, or stay in and play board games or the Wii, just something that everyone will have to move not just sat. Family get togethers are great, but greater with good cold homemade icecream of all kinds

  34. Going swimming or spending a day at the water park is a perfect way to cool off on a hot summer day.

  35. Tubing on the river or lake is one of the best ways to cool off and have fun in summer!

    chrisdeglen(at)gmail(dot)com

  36. The other day it was SOO hot and our AC died. There was no way I was turning on a stove or standing in front of the grill to make dinner. Instead we had banana splits for dinner. Yeah, you read that right. We used homemade frozen yogurt, fresh strawberries, blueberries and bananas, walnuts, homemade whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and M&Ms. Full of sugar? yeah. Dinner every night? Not on your life. Totally unhealthy? Nah. Will we do it again? You betcha! But only as an occasional treat.

  37. A game that would be good would be water ballon fights for older kids

  38. I think those slip and slide water slides are awesome for families to enjoy together and they are so much fun.

  40. We love to take a road trip to my parents summer cottage at the lake and spend the day swimming, fishing and boating.

  41. I like you both on Facebook

***sorry for the duplicate post above, can one be deleted???

  42. Playing tag in the pool is a great family activity. If there are little kids, a parent can carry them. It keeps everybody laughing!

  43. WE go to the plantarium together to learn about stars and after that we spend many nights looking at stars as a family.

  44. The best way for me and the children to beat the summer heat is to jump in the pool

    brensweepstakes at aol.com

  45. I beat the heat- I bought my daughter a sprinkler. It’s kind of a cool one – it’s shaped like a beach ball & water squirts out on all sides.

  46. I suggest going to the movie theater & enjoying one of the great movies coming out this summer.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  47. Bowling is great fun. You can find card all around our area that gets you a free game of bowling. thank you!

  48. My tip for family cool activities are to get a yearly pass to the local waterpark or swimming pool. We actually have a waterpark and a free mini-water park type thing in out town.

  49. Swimming is a great choice in the summer. And the rest of the year indoors.
    Thanks for the contest.
