“Robin Rescues Dinner” Cookbook: Review and Giveaway

hypothesis Robin Miller’s new cookbook entitled, “Robin Rescues Dinner: 52 Weeks of Quick-Fix Meals, 350 Recipes and a Realistic Plan to get Weeknight Dinners on the Table” will give me great tips to save time meal planning and preparing in the evenings and more time with my family.

materials

One cookbook and one exhausted working Mommy.  About the book (quoted from Barnes and Noble):

She provides a year’s worth of weeknight flavorful, healthful and varied meals that make the most out of seasonal produce. Each chapter includes a prep list of steps that can be done in advance, and throughout Miller offers time-saving tips, such as cooking extra chicken breasts now for a second meal later in the week. Recipes have prep and cook times listed and most double easily and freeze well. When appropriate, she offers suggestions for morphing one meal into another.

methods Because I work full time outside of the home, meal planning is essential on a weekly basis.  Each Sunday, my husband and I sit down and make a nightly menu before heading to the grocery.  However, we always seem to go straight for the easy family favorites which causes us to burn out on those recipes pretty quick!  I took the opportunity to look through Robin’s new book and highlight the recipes I would love to work into our weekly menus.

results

Robin is a genius! The cookbook is organized by weeks (52 chapters to be exact) which was extremely helpful to me.  I was able to pull recipes in order to plan for the week without repeating our old favorites.  This week, I plan to try the Lasagna Rolls with Herbed Cheese and the Maple-Glazed Chicken!  There are dishes for just about every taste in this cookbook!  And I love that Robin gives you a suggested easy side dish to accompany each main course.  Another plus to the book is the incredible pictures!  I am definitely a visual person because the pictures in this book made my mouth water!

summary

While I did not yet have the opportunity to prepare one of the recipes from the new cookbook, “Robin Rescues Dinner“, several of the recipes caught my eye.  My husband and I agreed almost instantly on the ones we would like to add to our meal plan, and none of the recipes appear to be time consuming.  Every minute counts when I am with my family in the evening, so the faster I am out of the kitchen, the sooner I can play with my daughters!

Robin also recently started the website, Embrace Dinner, which provides meal planning tips, recipes, coupons and video demonstrations.  She also shares several recipes in order to “Keep it Cool” this summer!  You, too, can share your “Keeping it Cool” recipes with Robin for a chance to win a $1000 prize package!
