Get Ready for Hurricane Season with Energizer Weatheready Light {Giveaway}

As a native New Orleanian, I have endured my share of hurricanes.  I know what needs to be done and can prepare my house quickly so my family and I can evacuate if it becomes a necessity.  Trust me, evacuating is no fun, but it is way better than the alternative.

That being said, we do not evacuate for every Storm that comes our way.  We heed the warnings of officials and stay put if it appears safe to do so.  But just because we don’t need to evacuate, doesn’t mean that no precautions should be taken.  My husband and I stock up on bottled water, canned foods, and batteries.  We tie down the lawn furniture, board the French Doors and fill the bathtub with water.  We make sure we have a functional radio and plenty of flashlights in case of the inevitable power outage.

Despite our efforts to prepare, it is impossible to be totally ready for every single scenario.  But, I am happy to introduce you to the Energizer Weatheready Light which can help in case of the unforseen power failure.  About the product:

“Energizer® Weatheready® lights feature long-lasting LED technology.  This extensive flashlight line is designed to provide extended runtimes (2 hours on high, 15 hours on low) so your family has light where and when it is needed most, therefore avoiding the use of candles when the power goes out.  A flashlight for every family member ensures safe lighting during power outages.”

I was excited to receive the Energizer® Weatheready® Compact Rechargeable LED Light for review.  The light has 3 bright LED lights, recharges hundreds of times with the embedded NiMH battery, and has a high and low setting.  I plugged the light in the hallway nearest my oldest daughter’s bedroom.  I turned it on the low nightlight setting and it was a great way to light the hallway for late night bathroom visits.  But my favorite part of the light is that when the power fails, the light comes on and remains lit!  This will allow my daughters to stay calm and help us to safely find each other in the dark.  I would love to have more of these in my home as Hurricane season is about to really take off!

  4. I’m right down the coast from you, and the item I’d most like to have is the Energizer Radio Crank Light. It ensures we’ll be able to hear the latest news by radio no matter how long the power is out. I love the red light for night vision, too.

  5. I like the Area Lantern because it could be used in a famliiy room/living room, someplace where everyone would gather.
