Is Club MoBay in Montego Bay Jamaica Worth the Price?

Are you flying to Montego Bay, Jamaica with kids? Someone who lacks patience? Or just anxious to get to your destination as quickly as possible? Then the short answer is that Club MoBay is completely worth the price.

In planning for a trip to Beaches Negril for a family wedding and extended vacation, many people in our party opted to purchase a service called Club MoBay. As a family of 4, I was not dying to spend additional money on top of already pricey airline flights. So, I did what any Type A person would do….I researched the heck out of it.

What is Club MoBay?

In short, Club MoBay is a personalized expedited service through the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica.  ‘Fast Track’ is a hassle free process where your own personal escort takes you past the often incredibly long lines and quickly takes you through Immigration, Customs and security. After clearing customs, you’ll be taken straight to the (air conditioned) Club MoBay premium lounge where you can partake in many Club MoBay amenities including cool refreshing towels, large screen TVs, free WiFi, a wide selection of drinks and delicious snacks, and private restrooms. Club MoBay can be purchased for arrival, departure or a bundle of both.

What does Club MoBay cost?

As of July 2018, the cost for Club MoBay services is as follows:

• Arrival Only: $50 per adult, $25 per child (2-12 years old), free for infant (under 2)
• Departure Only: $30 per adult, $20 per child (2-12 years old), free for infant (under 2)
• Bundled Service: $80 per adult, $40 per child (2-12 years old), free for infant (under 2)

Is Club MoBay worth it upon arrival?

As soon as we landed, our concierge was waiting for us with a smile at our gate. He took our passports and customs form and checked everything for accuracy and completeness. After a brief overview of the customs and immigration process, we were quickly whisked away into the Fast Track lane. We were able to bypass the line which can take up to two hours in peak season! After waking up at 4:30am to catch our flight, sitting through a layover and taking off on the second flight of the day, standing in line for two hours did not seem like a fun way to start vacation. I couldn’t have been happier to pass up the line and be personally escorted through the formalities welcomed into the private Club MoBay lounge.

In the lounge, we were offered cold towels, pastries, and drinks to enjoy at a comfortable table and cushioned chairs. Here, we waited for our Beaches Negril transportation bus to arrive in the comfort of the air condition and free-flowing beverages of choice. Traveling with two kids, I was so thankful for the expedited process, cold drinks and cool place to sit (did I mention free WiFi?)! Definitely worth the price!

Is Club MoBay worth it at departure?

As soon as we arrived at the airport, we checked in to our flight and headed straight to the Club MoBay check in desk. We were promptly whisked away to a downstairs private lounge again with free food, free drinks, private restroom, free WiFi and even a kids play area. In the lounge, a television displaying flight status ensures you are kept constantly updated and flight boardings are announced on the intercom system. So instead of waiting at the gate, we relaxed in comfort enjoying breakfast before our journey home. Again, well worth the price!

After debating for many weeks whether or not we would purchase Club MoBay, I am so glad we did! We felt that for our family or four, both the arrival and departure concierge service was well worth the cost. I will not travel to Montego Bay, Jamaica without this service!
