Glow Crazy: Review and Giveaway

I can sum up our Summer so far in one word….HOT.  Here is Southeast Louisiana, we have had few days where the kids can go outside and enjoy our swingset or even take a walk to the park to ride bikes.  We have had more than our fair share of “indoor” days to avoid the sweltering heat and soak up the air conditioning.  Problem?  The kids are bored.  And climbing the walls!

Because the majority of our days are spent indoors, I have tried to find fun activities for the girls that entertain them for more than 5 minutes at a time.  Fortunately, I have been introduced to Glow Crazy!  About the product:

Find a clean, flat wall and turn off the lights, it’s time to Glow Crazy! The GlowCrazy Dual-Action Magic Lightwand works from over 10 feet away, so you can have a long distance game of Tic Tac Glow! The reusable GlowClings won’t harm your wall, and react to the Lightwand with a wild glow. You can put them up as sheets or easily cut them into fun shapes to decorate your room.  Use the stencils to create cool Glow Scenes.  See what kind of fun silhouettes you can make using your hands, your teddy bear or even your friends. Your creativity will really shine with GlowCrazy!

My daughter’s couldn’t wait to try out the Glow Crazy Distance Doodler.  We removed the two canvases, removed the backing and applied to a bedroom wall.  After installing four AAA batteries (not included) into the glow wand, we turned off the lights and let the fun begin.  My daughter, age 6, got a huge kick out of writing her name in “lights.”  While the product is recommended for ages 6 and over, my three year old daughter enjoyed playing, too.  While she can’t write her name like her big sister, she used the included stencils to create glowing pictures.  My oldest daughter discovered that she could turn on the lights, write a secret message and turn the lights off again to reveal her message.  Another discovery is that the closer you hold the wand to the canvas, the brighter the glow effect!  It was fun to create pictures with different glow intensities!

The next morning when we awoke, the canvases had fallen off the wall.  But,  there was no damage to the wall at all.  Both girls had a great time playing with Glow Crazy and I would definitely consider purchasing this as a birthday gift for school friends (pretty good buy for only around $20!). Taking a road trip? Why not try the Glow Crazy Glow to Go- Glow in the Dark Travel Doodle System?
