When the leaves start to turn, the temperature begins to drop and pumpkin spice lattes appear in every coffee shop, I know that my favorite holiday is just around the corner….Halloween! Half the fun and excitement of this spook-tastic day is deciding what costume to wear to walk the streets trick-or-treating with your family and friends. But with a tween and a teen in my home, decisions are never made easily. Or on time. Or once. So when the costume decision becomes a last minute ordeal, you need easy Halloween costume options in your back pocket!
For my tween, if candy is priority number one for Halloween, the perfect group costume for her entourage comes in a very close second. But I thought getting a group of kids to agree on a costume theme would not be an easy task but to my surprise, these easy Dr. Seuss Halloween costumes were an instant hit.
By far, the favorite Dr. Seuss Halloween costume among the tween entourage was the Hooded Thing 1 and Thing 2 long sleeve dress from Party City. While most costumes tend to be itchy, this dress is extremely soft and feels like pajamas. It can be worn over a pair of leggings but it was long enough to be worn alone and still be age appropriate. What makes this the perfect choice for a group or bestie costume is that the Thing 1 patch is removable and can be replaced with an included Thing 2 patch!
Of course, Halloween is not the only day that requires dress-up this time of year. My daughter’s school hosts Halloween activities throughout the week and her dance studio allows the dancers to dress-up during classes. Fortunately, Dr. Seuss has plenty of easy Halloween costume ideas at Party City! The super soft t-shirt and gloves in the Thing 1 and Thing 2 accessory kit are perfect for school parties worn with jeans or leggings. Or slip on the adorable Cat in the Hat headband with a black tee and red bow tie and you’re set to go!
